Some day, I think we will be able to irrefutably credit someone or some company with re-designing education for the 21st century.
The same way Apple is credited with changing the music industry with the iPod and iTunes.
The same way Microsoft brought workforces into the digital age with MS Office.
The same way President John F. Kennedy put a man on the moon.
The solution could come from anywhere, but I don't think we've met them yet. They'll be disruptive. People will leap to point out reasons why they've failed (this happened with OLPC).
There will be plenty news stories about their failure.
Imitators will undermine them, causing a cloud of confusion and deceit.
Legacy and Tradition will denounce them, saying education should continue the way it always has.
The dust will settle and education will be positively changed forever…At least that's how I see it.
